iQra helping restore Britain's first mosque

iQra International is helping the Abdullah Quilliam Society with their fundraising campaign to help restore Britain's first mosque.

During AQS' recent fundraising programme on Channel S, iQra provided logistical support, leaving AQS to concentrate on the presentation of the appeal.

Helping the poor to help themselves

"Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish (and give him the means with which to do so) and you feed him for life".

iQra's aims and objectives are based on the above saying. We are working to help poor and needy become self-reliant, and not dependent on hand outs and donations, by providing them the means with which to generate income for themselves.

We also promote good health and provide some simple, yet life-changing medical assistance, particularly to those with physical disabilities. Our clean water project aims to provide give people access to clean drinking water to areas where lack of such basic facilities results in illnesses and, in many cases, deaths.

We cannot do any of this work without the continued support of kind and generous donors and well-wishers. We cannot help everyone, but we will endeavour to help those we can.

Please help us to alleviate poverty and disease among some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people in the world.

Please show them that you care.
