Our charity organisation has long been involved with helping poor and vulnerable disabled people in Bangladesh for many years now and this unique support for disabled children and adults was identified as a strong area of work. Therefore, the Trustees determined that iQra International should shift its focus from offering a range of fragmented services and focus on changing the lives of disabled people, especially children.
In 2010, feasibility studies were carried out in order to establish whether iQra International would be able to provide a more centralised service for the poor and vulnerable disabled people in Greater Sylhet of Bangladesh. The results and feedback were positive and thus iQra International embarked on a journey to develop The iQra Academy – A Centre of Excellence for disabled People & Orphans.
